Walked over to the pond while there. I can see frog legs in my future. [emoji6] Some big ones in there.

Hoddy your clover is looking good. I am keeping a close eye on mine for young johnson grass. I will spray clethodim once I am seeing JG to clean up the competition in my clover and other beneficial broad leafs.
Same here. I had a couple small patches of Johnson grass show up last year. It's not in the pic, but some of the dead stalks are still standing. Never had johnson grass on this place until a couple years ago when I bought deer corn from a private guy vs the cleaned stuff at the COOP. It only grows in the food plot so some spraying with the clethodim when young might get a handle on it.

I took the day off to get some food plot work done. I was mowing and spraying with Roundup when the wind got light and out of the SE. Decided, “What the hell. I can keep a fire under control and that’ll be a lot quicker.”

I already had some green fire breaks on the north and west sides of the areas already, so started some back fires and let those burn a while, then lit the up wind side of the patches. Worked perfectly. And just as my last area finished burning, I got a nice little shower to put out the hot spots.

I figured that hour of burning saved me about a half a day or more.

Burning is good! Hopefully kill those little saplings coming up.
