While I shouldn't bother with some of you guys piling on the USPS me too movement I will make the same offer I usually do. Send me a PM with tracking number and I'll see if I can offer any insight.
Now I'll try to explain what I know from talking to people who still work there. When the new PMG took over a lot of changes were made. I'll give you a quick example. When I was plant manager in OKC we would sometimes have machines go down and cause some mail to be processed late. I had to decide to hold the trucks or dispatch what we had and keep the rest until the next day. One of the new rules is trucks run on time with our without the mail. A stupid arbitrary requirement that results in late mail sometimes. Other asinine rules have been placed into effect that are as bad or worse.
Since Covid people have been staying home and ordering more online stuff than ever. Record package volumes are a result. Covid has also had a major impact on employee scheduling. John Doe tests positive and he's out for however long. You get the picture. There has also been a big relaxation of accountability. Instead of expecting employees to show up on time and work it's more about how they feel about their job today. This trend started before I left which is part of the reason I retired 3 days after I became eligible. It's more like a daycare center for adults as it is in a lot of places now.
USPS goes to every delivery point 6 days a week. Companies like UPS have contracted with them to deliver "the last mile". The problem is the tracking when the mail is handed off. I could go more into this but most of you wouldn't know or care what the explanation is. We all want our stuff on time. I'm as bad as anyone else anticipating the arrival of some new thing I've ordered. Usually I get it, open it, get that rush of having a new thing, and then might actually use it in the next week or 2.
I've got great news though! They are hiring so if some of you guys want to show them how it's done step on up.
I agree they have some problems and if they would hire me back as a consultant I could fix them all, or so I think. Meanwhile I'll just sit here by the window and watch for my lazy late mail carrier to bring me stuff.

I ordered very recently from MidwayUSA and Natchezz, and I believe both came by the "hand-off" shipping between UPS and USPS. Both came very promptly. Where I have a problem currently is with First Class Mail. I had to LOL recently when DeJoy said he would like to increase the time allotted for First Class Mail from 2 or 3 days to 3 to 5 days. HA! I'd be perfectly happy with 3 to 5 days. I very recently sent First Class Mail to Philadelphia that took thirteen days, and one to Atlanta took sixteen days!

I was just talking about this today. We got a piece of mail delivered to our box outside of our building. Our building is high-fenced, video-secured, and unmarked. Looks like a nondescript government-type building. The letter was addressed to Dr. So-n-So, DDS, with our address. There is a strip mall next to us loaded with those type of businesses. I checked Google and their address' are 17000, ours being 16900. The address is clearly wrong on the envelope and would have been correctly delivered by your friendly neighborhood mailman of yore, or any other person with a brain that was paying any attention to what they were doing.

I am continually getting mail at my house that isn't even close to my address, but some are close. Is it a new sorting issue and they just don't bother looking?

Part of the problems that I had with Midway was UPS Mail Innovations. What happens here is that UPS delivers to the Post Office and the PO delivers it to you. The catch is that sometimes the package will be stuck in someplace like Okie City and take several days to make the transfer. To keep this from happening, I'd order some ammo and since the USPS does not handle ammo, it goes with UPS all the way and the delivery time is a lot shorter.
I have a LOT of delivery problems when companies use third party shipping too. A lot of time sitting "Pending Acceptance"

The envelope was correctly delivered as addressed. About 90% of letter mail is sorted by automation. If you think the carrier looks at every single name AND the address you'd be mistaken. Your mailman of yore had about 3-4 hours in the office to look at and manually sort each letter into a separation on a case. The mailman of today has about an hour to sort non automated in the office and about twice was long a route on the street as it used to be. I'd be interested in what is continually getting mail not even close to your address. Is it the same address you're always getting or different ones? If different ones it's definitely an employee not paying attention, if it's the same one, it's most likely an automation issue that needs to be fixed.

I have a LOT of delivery problems when companies use third party shipping too. A lot of time sitting "Pending Acceptance"
USPS scans pallets as accepted when they arrive on the dock. I have things all the time that show pending acceptance that USPS hasn't gotten yet. Scans you should see for example in Okc are accepted, arrived, and departed from OKC plant. Depending on where it's going there may be some in transit, then arrived and departed from that plant. Finally, arrived, and out for delivery at the final destination unit.

Lately Rick? Tulsa plant had major issues back in December with almost a complete gridlock. If since then, pm me a tracking number and I'll send the District Manager an inquiry like I did for another member back then.
