I'm not real good at this, and I can't tell that much from the pic but looks to me like a black rat snake. They are notorious climbers.

If so, they are not poisonous.

I've read that the hooded snakes are vipers and poisonous but there are snakes that do no have a hood over it's eyes that are very poisonous. To me they are all poisonous like spiders.

Its a rat snake and a good friend. Yes it will eat a few eggs but it will also eat rodents and copperheads.
