I wonder if it might have been someone's reload. He states that he THOUGHT they were genuine military issue. Might not have been. Plus he states they were very old so who knows why it actually popped like it did. Kind of brings a reminder to always be sure of your ammo source and condition of rounds.

What were they using for propellant, C4?
With those kind of pressures, I doubt anything would have been safe.
I'll stick to my .22s.........
