When bolting down your safe, give some consideration as to what type bolts you'll use.
The gun-safe mover/installers strongly recommend using "Power Fastener Wedge Bolts".
You have to use the special masonry-bit for it because it's a non-standard diameter. (especially made for these type bolts)

They claim they've never had a 'wedge bolt' come loose - due to the inherent interference fit with the concrete.
(whereas the red-head expanding bolts can come loose after a few years - without any visual clues)

No dolly needed, use 3-4 pieces of 2" PVC (or whatever size. 1" dowel rod works too) and role it on that. One comes out the back, move it to the front. Turning wide when needed.

Ain't that kinda like how the Egyptians moved those big rocks to build the pyramids?

It's been many years since I saw this, but PBS (Secrets of the Lost Empires: Pharaoh's Obelisk) had a special about erecting an obelisk. It addressed lots of the challenges faced with constructing structures like the pyramids and obelisks. One of the things showed was moving these huge, multi-ton stones by rolling them along logs, pulled by a bunch of men. Of course, this was a modern reenactment of how it was believed they accomplished it but was fascinating nonetheless.

Well, the safe is in my house, thanks to the hard work of @Matt Giroux with his big pickup and dolly and @swampratt, with his unique style of tackling an issue. We got it in, and in position. I have to run get some concrete lag bolts tomorrow and we'll bolt 'er down to the floor nice and tight. As usual, the help from fellow OSA Members carried the day! Funny how it seems when somebody established here needs some help, guys are coming out of the woodwork asking what can they do? A thousand thanks to you guys for helping this banged up old guy out!

I was in the new Atwoods in Yukon and they have a killer deal going on for gun safes. I want to buy one but need help in picking it up at the store and transporting to my house. Distance is just a couple of miles. It's a medium size safe, weight is 310 lbs. Will need a heavy duty dolly. I want to bring it into the house and put it in the Man Cave.

I will gladly pay you for your time and the help. I'd much rather pay for help to OSA than someone I don't know.

I want to do this either this Thursday, May 6th, Friday afternoon, May 7th, or Sunday, May 9th, or any day next week. PM me or even better, send me a text to 405-227-4270.
Thanks!
Joel
I've got a truck and a dolly. Not sure I can do much lifting since I lost so much weight and muscle but I'm sure between the two of us, we can figure it out. It's right at 2 hours for me to get up to Yukon but it would be a great drive. Just let me know and I can leave early tomorrow. Saturday and Sunday I'm cleaning up our daughters grave as well as my and my wifes moms. I think you have my cell number.

I moved a 800 lb one by myself with pvc laid out like a train track and just pushed it to where i wanted it.
