I have a pair of Nikon 7x50 binoculars that we carried on the sailboat. they are great binoculars but much to big to carry in the field. the 2 pair of 8x20s that I have had for years do not adjust very well and were only marginal when new. will be using mostly out to 250 yards, checking fields for coyotes, hogs and such, early and late day. looking for suggestions in the $75 to $250 range.

I’ve had a pair of leupold cascades in my pack for years. I thought they were decent glass for China money. My son accidentally left his pack in my truck and he had the vortex Diamondback 8x42 in his. Man, what a difference. Super clear, very impressed. I’ll probably go to vortex next year

Had planned on keeping them, but I've got a set of Nikon Monarch 3 in 10x42 in Real Tree. Got them for me but they've been sitting around never taken out as I have other pairs in my truck and range bag. I think they're going around 260-300 online, so if you wanted them PM me something fair.

Was in OKC on Wed and picked up a pair of the Vortex 8x42 from Cabellas. Not much to pick from unless u are willing to pay a lot of money. Scanned tree line at 400 yards in bright sun and pretty clear. Got out after dark and looked around street and at the stars and pretty good light gathering. reading license plates down the street in dim light at 150 yards. 90 day return policy so will continue to evaluate.

I picked up a pair of the cabelas brand 12x50 binos a while back. They aren’t too bad, but they’re a bit of a pain to drag around and require both hands. My Sig 6x or 7x magnification laser rangefinder (I don’t remember which) gets used a ton more. Fits in one hand or my pocket, plenty of magnification for what I need out to 400yards, and the range finding function is great too.

I recently needed to buy a new set of binoculars after losing mine in Colorado. Long story that I won't bore you with.
Went to Cabelas in OKC. Had them stack up several sets of different models/brands on the counter.
Prices ranging from affordable to I can't afford these but want to look through them anyway.
Vortex was the winner. I can't remember the model. They are in my pickup but I'm too lazy to walk out to the truck and look this time of night.
They were at the $500 price, 10X40.
I will say this. Everybody has different eyesight. I don't believe there is any one superior set of binoculars out there over another.
If you have eye issues, do yourself a favor and look at all the models available and then make your choice.
I've looked through some extremely high end binoculars and have not seen any reason to buy them with MY EYE ISSUES over what I got.

I’ve been using a set of 12x45 Zeiss Conquest binos for almost 20 years. There’s more than likely better glass available today, but these still work for me.:anyone:
