I carry a Kel-Tec P3AT (.380 acp) in a front pocket holster anytime I leave the house. This is my deep conceal option that I wear to work. When on my own time, I carry a Glock 29 10mm in an AlienGear OWB. I originally didn't like the plastic holsters but they did grow on me, especially during the summer. My old leather would sometimes get soaked and take a day or so to dry out fully.

How many of you have shot your summer carry gun in the last 30 days? Can you hit with it? Can you deploy it quickly? I’ve found on the days I pocket carry if I don’t start with my hand in my pocket it’s gonna be a few extra seconds to get it out and put a round on target.

This post presents a good question. Do you train with your carry gun, can you clear garments or get it out of your pocket and get rounds on target quickly if needed.

I carry a Glock 19.4 in a Zorn kydex “skinny rig” IWB at about 4 o’clock. I practice clearing garments and getting effective hits at least once a week. My draw to first shot is around 1.5 seconds and in a life threatening situation that is to slow. I think we should be able to consistently hit an 8” circle at 5 yards in under 2 seconds.

Does anyone else have a trading plan or drills they can share to improve time to get rounds on target from concealment.

I haven`t shot it hardly since the ammo shortage. It`s a DB9 in a good holster so I can easily clear the holster and put a couple of rounds on a paper plate within about 14ft...
Hardly the stuff of legends but enough to inspire them keep their hands to themselves!
