I've been rasslin' with my 15+year old ZTR, a Snapper Pro.

I've got almost $800 in parts in it, me doing the work, and it ain't right yet. Mrs wants to go buy a new one, but I nixed that.

It's personal now. I will fix it.

Or I will burn it.

HaHa! Reminds me of a buddy and his push mower. It was at the end of its useful existence but he was try to wring out the last ounce of it.
Said he got it going with starting fluid, it backfired and wouldn’t start. Hot summer afternoon. I figured the backfire sheared the crankshaft key, so got a puller and headed his way.
Getting at his place, he had a 16lb sledge in hand with a pile of mangled metal at his feet.
No need to work on that one!

I have a 1992 Honda 4514 riding mower that starts every time without fail, water cooled. But like all things, it's just a matter of time before something goes wrong. I was mowing and due to the heat hired some "people from out of town" to mow for $45.00 per week but when they wanted $800 to trim a tree after the big freeze we had I figured I don't need them. So hired a grandson to mow at $30-$35 per week using my mower. It's a win-win situation, he needs the money and I need the lawn mowed.

The older I got the more I have learned to appreciate the cactus and white rocks look.

I have dumped 3 mowers and 3 weed eaters, countless gallons of gas, belts, tires, batteries, and parts in this place in 14yrs. Working on wearing out a Cub Cadet now.

Yardwork is way overrated as a pastime and I don't care what the cover of Better Homes and Gardens looks like. MONEY PIT.
