Not sure I would call public remembrance of the death of 168 innocent children and adults a celebration. I do agree that there is a lot of celebration of some pretty trivial events nowdays.
As a 75 year old man, I’ve developed the attitude that if it works for me, I don’t give a rats ass what other people think. Not a Fanny pack guy, but think nothing of those that are.
It’s been several years since I reloaded for my .308. Can’t give you much info, but I can tell you that my rifle was pretty sensitive to the distance from the bullet setting in the chamber and the lands of the barrel (bullet jump).
I usually carry Spyderco knives but I bought this Civivi Sokoke back in December and like it pretty well. It has a 3.35 inch blade and is a well made knife for $65. The blade steel isn’t the best but it sharpens easily and holds an edge pretty well.
Unless you have substantial other assets, your tolerance for risk (or pain) should probably reduce as your years to recover decrease. If you’re 45 and lose in the market you have a good long while to recover. If you’re 65, not so much. I’m 75 and have opted for the stability of CD’s...
The holster was very well made. I am a bigger than average guy (a lot bigger) and they made me a longer shoulder strap. The holster holds the gun as tight against your chest as you want. Easy to draw from.
I’ve owned one for several years. Not the ideal caliber, but better than a sharp stick. To get around the rim lock issue without messing with the magazines, I alternate regular FMJ round nose bullets and flat nose lead bullets. I like Fiochi FMJ and Buffalo Bore hard cast flat nose.
I’ve always been a bolt/lever action guy. I really haven’t paid much attention to what’s available in the AR platform. Because of age and some physical limitations I don’t get out to shoot much anymore so I’m concentrating more on home defense. I would appreciate this groups opinion on a good...
I have a 1999 Wrangler SE. Use it for top down spring and fall cruising around the local lakes. It’s been parked most of the last couple years. Put 166 miles on it the last 12 months.
I buy a bundle of spring steel and some small file handles from Amazon and make custom screwdrivers for each application. Somewhere on YouTube there are 2 or 3 videos of an old English gunsmith showing how to work on double barrel shotguns. In the first video of the series he shows how to make...
I was an IRS Revenue Agent back in the late ‘70’s. Not all IRS auditors are pencil necked geeks. I worked as a machinist on the night shift at Halliburton while driving to Lawton most days to get an accounting degree at Cameron. This is after spending 2 years in the Marine Corp. I joined the...
Anyone here running a mesh router system off of fiberoptic internet? I’ve always had cable internet and now have a mesh system running. If you have a mesh system running off of a fiberoptic router, how is it connected?
