I travel to Houston on business occasionally & usually travel so I can hit a show or two in East Texas as it seems those shows have more military WWI & II items than the local shows in OK. But do note the ammo & firearm prices in the small shows are usually in the nose bleed territory, but...
Springfield stamped arsenal bombs on the slide & frame, as shown on this 1911, on original manufacture as well as the eagle on the opposite side of the slide. No other inspection markings were used other than the small "s" on the other parts to denote Springfield manufactured parts. On this...
Found this WWI gem at a local pawn shop recently.
Springfield 1911 DOB March 1915
Still cleaning as internals were caked in cosmoline and not coming apart easily.
So far parts are mixed but appears to be a post WWI rebuild with WWI parts.
Gun was not in the shop case but never hurts to ask if...
We had a repair shop just out of downtown Seattle and I saw the fish market area / downtown go from a few panhandlers in the park playing instruments for money to the trash & filth you referenced and a fear to even be downtown at any time of the day. We closed our shop area got so bad could not...
I am not an expert but have owned a couple and from what I can glean from the web is the police marked 37's have sold for around $850 with the Ithaca "Police Specials" like your barrel is marked go for over the $1K level, US marked military 37's are in the $2K -3K range.
You have a rare version of the 1903. see the link below on 1903 oddities.

Model 1903A2 Rifle (Subcaliber Device)
Artillery, tank guns and anti-tank weapons training used very expensive ammunition and required extremely large ranges...
Have one and it shoots OK after I had my gunsmith rebuild it. When first bought it was hit or miss on ammo feeding and finally locked up requiring my gunsmith to replace the barrel. As noted by earlier reply the newer models are not to GI specs and my replacement GI barrel had to be trimmed &...
Just picked up an M1A scout to go with my other 7.62x51 arms, K98, M1 Garand, M1 Navy NM....
The 18" squad scout was a dream on the range last week with a red dot, fast target acquisition and ran through multiple clips without a hic up.
7.62x51 absolutely a go to cartridge
Yes, for any ammo in the mid1960's. Type of firearm was to be used in was not a qualifier.
Dad had a store and we had to keep a ledger of all the ammo we sold and the purchaser had to sign. Do not remember if there was an age restriction.
Do not know what dad did with the ledgers after we...

From the Fox News Tucer Carlson report The Biden administration / CIA was involved with in pushing the courts to support voter suppression to make sure he lost.
Has anyone gone to a Cushing show at the airport in the past?
If you have is it worth the time to travel over to it?
At $5 a car to get in it may be a cheap day outing.

I believe I remember CMP forum added this requirement almost a year ago to its members before you could post to keep out spammers or fake posts.
"The CMP" if you have submitted your paperwork to be able to purchase from them would have all your info.
You can always go to their site and send them...
Thanks for posting the video.
Easy to see why the Garand was selected as the new US Military semi-auto especially with regard to field maintenance / repair. Can't imagine having to take apart a Johnson in the field and having the spare parts to support it in combat.

Agree he has a business and it the owner's prerogative to have it refinished.
Not knocking what he does for a living.
Just from my perspective an arsenal refinished 1911 vs a mil-surp 1911 gunsmith repark has at least twice the dollar value.
To spice up this thread I inserted a 1918...
Interesting video
I'm of a different mindset than what was presented. In my mind he devalued the 1911A1 by reparking it. The value of the armory rebuild was lost and the existing finish on the 1911A1 appeared to be in very good condition. Trying to make the finishes match in IMHO should not...
My father ran my 2 brothers & I through the NRA gun safety course multiple times to instill in us safe handling before he let us touch a firearm / go hunting with him. But Loaded guns around our house was a norm.
Never had an issue.
We hunted before school, had a rifle or pistol in our car at...
