There's always some discussion about getting it engraved first, then sending in your paperwork. I think it's a good idea if you are shipping it off for engraving just in case it gets lost or otherwise screwed up by the engraver. If you are engraving locally then of course it's not an issue...
I guess I should have premised my reply by saying that I'm all about saving money where I can and finding the best product for the dollar while maintaining a quality product with the features I really want. By no means am I a suppressor snob! :)
