I purchased a box of Winchester m80 last November and upon opening it discovered what looked like some of the sealant for the bullet and the primer smeared all over the cases and the heads and the bullets. Talking to some other shooters there have been issues with soft or thin primers. I was...
I didn't have pictures when I posted two weeks ago but here you go been to the range a couple of times but 265 rounds through it seems to be working fine.
It never ceases to amaze me how I am treated at Dongs. Today I walked in and it was as if I was casing the joint. I was asked twice if I "wanted" any help, "no, I'm just looking". I have bought bullets, powder, primers and any number of reloading supplied off of these guys. Unfortunately...
For what it is worth you seem to be concerned with factory loaded ammunition. This is not a hard and fast rule but if you stay with 145g to 175g bullet weight ammunition you will probably be ok. The 168 and 175 are usually sold as match ammo. 145g-155g ammunition at around 2750 fps should ( I...
Not really in the same category as some of the bolt guns but I have been working with this M1A Loaded since last Feb.. I've put a NM op rod spring guide on, Schuster adjustable gas plug, shimmed the gas system, made my own cheek riser and added a Leupold VXR Patrol scope (I may bump up to...
A castle nut pliers and a gas block tool are just a couple of the things that will come in handy with the M1A. Tony Ben over at the M14 Forum has some very good videos on trouble shooting and cleaning of the M14/M1A. I've done a number of things to my Loaded M1A including taking it completely...
I've been working up 168 and 175 grain loads using 4895. So far 650 rounds through the rifle. Last Saturday at the range I put 55 rounds of 168 grain Sierra Match King through the Oehler 35P with an average 2660 fps. Very accurate load in my rifle.
I know this is an old thread but I have a Sadlak airborn mount on my M1A Loaded. I installed it without problems. I have a Leupold VXR Patrol mounted with Leupold Mark IV rings. I torqued everything according to spec and have had no issues so far. I have plenty of adjustment up/down and...
I'll have to get the ambrotype out and make a few glass plate negatives. I guess one of these days I will have to step into the 21st century and embrace digital photography. The Allens' I've had since the early '80's before cowboy action shooting. In fact I haden't bought a gun since the...
Mark,
Have you actually seen or handled any of the new Merwin Hulberts? I have looked on their website and they are really beautiful revolvers. I was just curious if anyone here in Oklahoma had one yet.
