"does anyone remember the range under the Owens field / Stadium?"
I do, and I used to shoot there with the OU rifle team, back before 1992. We shot .22 rifles, often. The range was built in when they built the stadium, from the start.
I hope so! That was a reliable money maker back when I was working there, there were a lot of guys from the Non-Free states who used to come train at the the postal training center who came with lots of money to rent SMGs! I never understood why we didn't have an MP40 though, that would have...
Im shocked! It's been closed for many years, I'll have to come by and see it sometime when I'm in town! I'll bet there was a lot of cleaning to do!!! I can't believe that lease, I hope they knocked it down some!
I used to work there prior to 1995 or so, I was the guy who loved to bring up my MG08/15 and set it on the counter. Enjoyed working there, and the range was not that bad, it seems like it could work as a range again, if ran correctly!
I've never bought anything there because I've never felt like i've been treated well there, and their prices are insane. I have had fun running around their store with my 3 year old, looking, but... paying $495 for a $350 gun wasn't on my list of things to do that day. I actually tried to buy...
This only bypasses the local cleo signoff. The background check and tax payment is still done. I personally don't have a problem with the cleo signoff thing if they're doing their job, which is NOT to blanket deny signing them as some do, but to only deny them if there is some specific reason...
I tried to go shoot my MP40 there the other day, but they don't allow ultra-fun guns there, just the average stuff.
Oh well! The daughter and I just loaded up and took off, we'll keep shooting at our usual haunts... :haay:
It looked like a nice place though, and my kiddo got a...
I'll be there with my MG's, I go every year. I haven't heard of any shoots in the OKC area, but I'm down in the far SW, so I don't know that I would have either? OFASTS is a fun shoot, we love going!
Oh no!!! that was a great place to go shoot, I went there with a lady friend a few years ago and loved it. Really nice, and the owner was nice too, turned my friend on about shooting too. I hope they get it re-opened!:patriot:
LOL! It's the WWII German MP 40, the famous WWII German "burp" gun you see in all the movies, I never even heard of the HK one in .40 cal, lol!
I've got a pile of original steel WWII mags for the gun, and haven't tried them all, but all i've tried do work. One of the problems though with the...
It finally got here Friday, hooray! It wound up being a Fathers Day present from Me to... Me! Didn't expect that when I started this, but it's a fun way to wind it up. :D
Now to take it out and have fun with it at OFASTS next weekend! Yay!!!! :D
