Been almost 10 years ago, was gathering calves in the fall. Had a place penned in a lot by a creek. Calves bawling like normal, close to dark. Dad hauled 1st load out, I stayed back to watch calves so they didn’t tear panels down. I was sitting on a downed tree far side of the lot away from the...
I know the threads old but it’s rare ppl talk about the .25-06, so I had to partake. Attached is the 1st rifle my father gave me for Christmas when I was 12. A Sig SHR 970 in .25-06. This is a fantastic caliber, I’ve never had deer run for than 50 yards, same for antelope and mulies. It’s a bit...
Thanks for the feedback everyone, this is what I was after. I had thought they quit making the Sendero, but according to the Remington site they are still selling the Sendero SF II in 300WM and 7MM, although they are selling for around $1200 at online brokers.

Had Dave make my dad a Elk for his 60th and me the trapper set. I must say I like the versatility of the trapper set and its light in the hand. You can't go wrong with any of his blades.
If you don't mind me asking what powder have you had good luck with for this load? I have been trying to find literature for the Hornady .223 53gr V-Max but have come up with nothing.
I finally was able to take this out yesterday and put some rounds through it. After the first mag I was in love. The feel is great, trigger is amazing without having to adjust, sights are spot on it and it will eat anything. I took Rem Golden Bullet, Anguilla, Federal match and Blazer ammo, it...
I shoot the SBEII and it has done great. I clean it twice a year, before duck season and after goose season. Never had it jam or ftf once. A hunting buddy recently purchased the Browning A5 and I must say it is a slick little gun and boy is it light.
Good luck with your purchase.
We have had a Bear for about 15yrs.
Pros:
Heavy as @#$%
1/4" steel body and door
Key locks which are sunk into the door
Excellent fire rating
Cons:
The door on our's doesn't close perfectly due to a bad weld in the upper-right corner of the door trim which should have been ground down but...
