    Ruger .44 Mag Carbine

I owned one for a few years and liked it. Stupid for selling it. Mine only worked reliably with 240gr full power .44 mag ammo. Didn't like blazer aluminum case or 180gr ammo.

    38 super

I owned a Llama .38 Super-auto back in the day(like 1980's)...at that time the only ammo in the stores(most had none at all) you could find were Remington 130gr hollowpoints which my Llama jammed constantly with...but you could also find Remington .38 acp which is an older low pressure version...

Best Magazines for Alloy Framed 1911

The standard split-follower mags can indeed leave marks/dings on an alloy feedramp. However there are lots of available mags that have modern followers that won't ding the feedramps. The old style split followers can slip forward with the last round and touch your alloy ramp. Alloy frame-safe...

    44 mag lever actions anybbody?

I own a Rossi/Taurus M92 stainless .44 mag...pretty decent rifle and I really like it. The only thing I've done to it was delete the bolt safety and remodel the rear sight just a bit to get it on target at close range. The newer Rossi carbines also have scope base holes underneath the rear...

    Desert Eagle .357 Magnum

Yeh..I actually own one...son in law has it for the time being. Something to remember about a .357 mag DE is that it will only work with full power 158gr jacketed ammo. Will not be reliable with light bullets or lesser loads. Lead bullets are a no-no because of the gas operated design.

boat load of Glock 42's on the used market

I really like my wife's Kahr P380...but alas..too small for me(the P380 is substantially smaller than a G42..came with a six and seven shot mag)...My grip on the Kahr causes me to hit the slide-stop lever and lock it open...about what I figure some G42 owners do to the G42 and maybe don't...

Help with civil war era rifle

yes it's a Remington 'rolling-block rifle of whatever make and caliber...post civil war up to the early 1900's. made by several manufacturers and in all sorts of calibers from .22LR on up .50 also modern era 7mm Mauser 8mm Lebel etc.

boat load of Glock 42's on the used market

I really like my G42...perfect size for a pocket shooter...not too big or heavy..not too small to shoot well. Folks that over-analyze things poo-poo the .380 in favor off the 9mmP...about like guys poo-poo the 9mm in favor of the .45acp. Reality is that a .380 is not a 9mm Luger or .45 acp...

    Real reason Wal-Mart closed stores

Hmmm...I've never seen anybody arrested/detained for theft at a Wal Mart....however I did know a fellow that worked at Wal Mart got busted for helping others steal from the store... Why would Wal Mart plot a cover story?...Probably crappy plumbing...Probably to foil the unions...probably to get...

    Taurus Model 82 revolver

Ehh...I bought a couple of the Taurus M82 and one Rossi M841 revolver. At least two or three different gens. of M82...I got an older version that needed some internal work...and a newer type that was really pretty nice and little used. The older Taurus has different frame than the newer...

    Opinions Wanted: First Handgun

This is the advice of the old and wise from the past and often present times. Published in shooting magazines and online by experts. A lot to be said for a .38/.357 revolver for sure. Just need a gun and a box of cartridges with a revolver....no mags to fiddle with...no safety or other levers to...

    Kahr cw380 or Taurus TCP

My wife has a Kahr P380 which I occasionally get to shoot. It's a decent little pistol...only issue I have with it is keeping my thumb tucked down so it doesn't hit the slide-stop during recoil and lock the slide open.

    Cetme

Fires two projectiles at one shot..the bullet towards the front..and empty brass to the right...long..long way to the right!!..Not for shooting on crowded ranges...might bean somebody bad with high-speed ejected brass! Mine only works right with G3 mags..I hate the rear sight and I may...

    Competent gunsmiths in Oklahoma?

I need some barrel work done on an old Winchester .22 rifle...either sleeved or counter-bored. Having used a few nearby gunsmiths in the past that were not all that whoopee...I'm looking for somebody better. Any referals for a Oklahoma gunsmith capable of sleeving and rechambering an...

David Stanley Chevrolet in Norman: Frustrated/upset after a visit there today

I've bought GMC, Dodge, and Chevrolet trucks at Diffee/El Reno....one of my favorite dealers. Something to remember about 'SALE' time at dealerships....you can usually do better when a dealership isn't having a 'sale'...they have to pay for all those balloons and fancy/smancy ribbon-tape plus...
