    Most survivors of deadly force encounters are lucky, not good. Just my opinion, albeit an opinion based on experience. I'll take "good and lucky" any day over "just lucky." And, you won't get good by hoping you'll be lucky.

    HiImSeth, As an example, check the "Kettlebell Swing" movement. This movement can be done with one of your barbell plates, say a 25 lb. to start. Actually, swinging two dumbells held together is better than a single kettlebell or a plate.... IMO, it's not so much the kettlebells themselves...

    Study the exercises carefully... you should be able to use regular fixed weight dumbells for quite a few of the movements..you can get those about anywhere.

    MaddSkillz, Related to kettlebells but not....... For your MMA or grappling training, add a "slam-ball" to your kettlebell regimen. It's basically a very heavy duty medicine ball that's attached to a rope. There's no better piece of equipment for training dynamic rotational strength...

    For dogs: Fog,foam, and stream have all worked for me. It's really best to get the "magnum" or "long range" version of whichever you choose. You'll be able to double or triple your striking distance...giving the OC more time to work and giving you more time and space to react. At close...
