Like has been stated it's a Santee rig named after the lake in South Carolina that has massive blue cats. I also use sinker slides that way when the fish grabs the bait there is little resistance. I leave my spool open with the bait clicker on and you definitely know when you have one over 5#...
Here's the rig I started using for catfish and it seems to work well. I basically find structure and use fresh cut shad. Like Ted said find the deep holes depending on the time of year.
This reminded me about my old boss offering employees 5k to get the company logo tattooed on them. I think around 30 people ended up doing it. And none of them work here anymore!!😂😂
My current project I've been working on for a year. 62' CJ5, I rebuilt the motor, tranny and t-case. Installed a front disc brake conversion and dual master cylinder. Next are the axles and the steering box! Never-ending project for sure!!
Why? To me the toms respond better latter in the season and it gives the hens a better chance of breeding from a mature tom.
This has worked for me the past 3 years! It seemed like I was wasting my time until the last 2 weeks of the season in the years past. I don't know what it is about...
My go to lure is rooster tails trolling, caught about every fish in the lake with it. Sandies, cats, walleyes, crappie and of course drum! A good all around lure for me, then once I catch one I'll go back and usually there are more. Good luck!
Went out yesterday to the Verdigris River and didn't even get a bite. I tried everything in my tackle box. I guess the fish weren't hungry? Heading out this morning to a different spot. Good luck guys!
