There are many handloaders who use Win 231/HP38 for cartridges in the magnum range so that other people whom dont shoot as oftem=n or is non-proficient with hand guns can learn to shoot and build confidence. My wife wouldn't shoot my .41 magnum unless I loaded some Win231 rounds for her.

I also have Smith, a model 57 6" made circa 1972. I am the only person who has ever shot it. It has exactly 450 rounds. I took it out to H&H a few weeks ago. I reload some 170gr Sierra JHC with 8.2gr of Universal Clays for a very fun target load load to shoot.
