Don’t know a whole lot about it but we have a Allis & Chalmers D17 propane tractor for sale. Information is forthcoming but I believe it’s a 57 model.
There weren’t a lot of propane models made so it might be more of a collectible than anything. Last time it was used was late spring and was...

Seen a guy running one of their 223 cans on a 6x47 Lapua last summer. Apparently they’re bored to >.243. It was as quiet as any of the other longer cans in the squad. Wish they had a dealer locally to look at one.
There’s both good and bad reviews out there. When considering the price of having a barrel chambered/threaded you’ll want to go with a barrel company that has the least duds. Personally I’m sticking with Bartlein, Krieger, Brux. In that order.
Had two good bucks battling it out right at first light. At one point the bigger of the two was on his back and eventually had enough and ran off.
Wanted to shoot one but they weren’t static long enough to feel good about the shot.
Funny story:
I had a heavy barreled .45 built on an Encore frame years ago that would shoot <1/2 moa groups with regularity at 200yds using a 200gr saboted bullet and 100gr 777 on light winded days. (Lot of work done to the rifle to get it to shoot this well)
One day I decided to shoot a doe...
Might consider a Sico Omega. The QD feature is over rated and there’s been plenty of cans go down range from issues with various qd set ups. On the omega, direct thread end caps can be swapped out for for 1/2”, 5/8”, and 3/4” threads. Spend $800 on the can and $200 on end caps, and you’re set...
You can build nice rigs on about any modern action but one thing to keep in mind, a savage will always be a savage, a Remington will always be a Remington, etc. Probably won't matter much until it's time to sell provided the essentials are trued.
Reread the thread, 22" barrel producing >3100 isn't bad. Not sure why a small primer would reduce velocity beyond what another .1gr of powder would accomplish. Probably will have to bush the firing pin if it's stock pin to get a lot more velocity with a small primer.
My 6.5x47 Lapua w/small...
Personally I think tannerite immediately followed up with precision rifle fire is more humane than allowing a dog to chew off a hogs ear followed minutes later by a knife.
Looks like a great option for guys that don't have dogs and/or traps and need to thin the hogs numbers.
