I've had mine for a couple of months. I like to read and with now living in a 5th wheel RV, there's no room for the traditional books. It's lightweight and easy to read. I've yet to have to recharge the battery. I bought it too in order to offer custom leather covers.
Hand sewing is not easy at all, but with practice one can become fairly proficient with it. Your proof of concept is on the right track. We've offered that style of holster before.
Keep practicing!
An all leather holster is going to mold to the body much easier and ultimately be more comfortable.
A couple of things you need to consider. The current set up shown in the pics is going to get loose in relatively short order. You need to learn how to stitch the two pieces together...
You can call it whatever you want. We show on our website at the bottom of the IWB/OWB page that we offer Crimson Trace lasers on the guns for the holsters. We don't show it for the Glocks on the drop down menus because C.T. does not offer their laser grips/guards for every model of gun. And...
Sorry, but Crossbreed is way behind in that category. We've often been the very first custom holstermaker to offer any style of holster that accomodates the C.T. as they come out with new models.
Cost of living is about 1/3 in comparison to having a brick and mortar home. I can take my leathercraft business with me and do it wherever. We'll be doing some of the workamping jobs, so we'll end up staying in one locale for 2-3 months at a stretch. And it gives us the chance to see pretty...
Ours is a 2011 Keystone Copper Canyon. It's 39' with two bedrooms. We're getting rid of our house and going full time. There's a whole different world out there in that respect. Should be on the road in a couple of months.
Yep, I made the grips. I got a couple of slabs off of some guy on fleabay. Was able to bookmatch this set.
You have any of that wood left that you showed me last spring?
I used poly for the finish on these. (Used tung oil on the P238 grips.)
Here's a pic of my Para Carry 9 with spalted maple grips:
I'm liking this gun more and more. After I get a few more rounds through it, I plan to make it my primary carry.
Thanks, guys.
NikatKimber: I got hooked on the woodworking when I made that custom acoustic guitar. I've got a set of grips I'm finishing up for my Para Carry 9 that are from spalted maple. I'll post pics of those tomorrow.
Can't find them around here for that kind of price. And at least the Ford trucks don't pull enough weight until you get up to about 2005/6; and the price for those generally starts in the $23/24k range. I originally paid $3k for the truck. And then discovered all of the issues with it.
The trailer, when full, only weighs about 12000. I figure I'll get about 7 to 8 miles to the gallon. Of course, it will probably be more like 7/8 of a mile to the gallon.
We're not going far each segment of the trip. Mostly just a day's worth of driving, then set down for a couple...
Yep, your interior looks just like mine, save the 4WD, and a different color. Ours is the XLT Lariat also. We recently changed out the tape player to a CD. I had to put new brakes, etc., and new shocks all the way around. Also put an Air Lift suspension system on the rear to help with the...
I've got the 460 engine in it. We've had to go to the salvage yard a couple of times to find parts for it. I recently put a K&N Air Intake on it, along with a series 70 flowmaster exhaust. Getting ready to put a new transmission cooler in. The tires are 10-ply. I'm trying to find a rim to...
Picked up this '91 F250 back in July. Have been fixing/upgrading it in preparation of us taking our business and hitting the road full time. Will be towing a 5th wheel trailer. I've got about $9000 in the truck now with everything we've had to do to get it in shape and make it safe and...
Thanks, man. Yep, I've done most of the work on the guitar. There's some custom wood on the backside, and the neck is going to be an abbreviated neck with some ivory on it. When finished, the piece is slated to go on display in an art gallery.
With respect to cutting the leather, I use a...
