Hunted Lexington on Wednesday. Saw a buck at 0700 morning. He walked right out in front of me. Thought it was going to be great. Didn't see another deer.
I'll be at Lexington Wednesday as well. I went out there the last saturday of muzzleloader and found a couple areas that look good. Didnt see a deer though.
I miss the check stations too. Mr. Bass in Skiatook is where I checked the most in. It was funny to see guys in compact cars with deer in the trunk or on the trunk. It was always enjoyable to visit with other hunters and see how the season was going according to the book.
If its a modern .50 caliber, most shoot pretty good with sabot xtps and 100 grains of pyrodex or two pellets. I've also heard good things about powerbelts.
