Just need a strong old press with the large holes. Plan to reload Martini Henry 577 x450 and the dies take the 1 1/4 x 12 dies. I don't need the reducers.
Let me know if you have something that might do.
I picked up a Martini Henry that looks like it might be a nice shooter.
Is there anyone in OKC that is currently reloading for this antique?
I have done a good bit of internet research on these and it appears that the last factory ammo was made about 1949. It's expensive, cordite, and...
I have an old Sizemaster that has loaded thousands of rounds with zero problems. I got pretty fast with it when I was shooting registered skeet. Not reloading any more, but can't seem to let it go... Do have a couple of progressives I would sell, along with a ton of related stuff.
Sharpshooter, I have a mec 20 ga grabber in great shape, and a 900 12 ga that needs a good cleanup, but is near new under the dust. Also have bushings, bars, bottles, some shot, hundreds of wads, etc. Would like to sell the whole lot, but will consider individual pieces. PM me if you are...
You'll get all sorts of recommendations. If you are interested in a nice 7mm mag commercial Mauser I have one I'd like to sell. Spanish made, nice wood, good scope, and oddly, not a big kicker like most 7 mags. PM me if you are interested. Also have reloading dies and some components.
Mainly looking for a wall hanger, wouldn't mind if it was shootable. Lever length is not critical, but would prefer a long one.
PM if you have something I might like.
Just picked up a Savage Predator Hunter in 6.5 C. Have a Vortex Viper that's going on it. Gotta learn what ammo it likes best. $1.15 a round is indeed attractive. I will soon be reloading for it, but am starting with factory ammo.
I am giving away a wooden desk which is 5 feet wide and 30 inches deep. It's sturdy, and plenty strong to hold about any reloading press.
It has some storage on its right side. It includes an "annex" which screws to the left side leaving room for knees under the desk. Annex is about 18 inches...
I have been reloading since the early 1980s, and have always preferred a bench tall enough to reload while standing.
I am curious how many of you prefer to stand, and how many prefer to sit while reloading.
For those who like to sit, I am giving away a large wooden desk with an "L" shaped...
A friend of mine went with the .260 Remington, and loves it. He did it when the 6.5 C was real new, and it wasn't easy to get components. At usual ranges the .260 is superb. I got the Creedmoor because of its reputation for long range accuracy.
After considerable research, I decided on a Savage Predator hunter with a Vortex Viper HS-T 6-24 x 50 scope. Have the rifle, waiting for the scope and a few other accessories. High end Savage and Ruger rifles were too heavy for me. I won't be entering competition, just shooting paper, deer...
I understand that reloading the 6.5 Swede is not for beginners. The difference between underpowered loads and overpressured loads is reported to be fairly narrow. Had a long Swede milsurp, didn't shoot it much, and never did much reloading for it. Amazingly accurate rifle, even with open...
I just picked up a Savage Predator Hunter in 6.5 Creedmoor. The accutrigger came set at 2 pounds. Seems to have no creep or overtravel. Putting a Vortex Viper scope on it and have ordered dies and brass. It'll be a deer/coyote/hog/paper punching gun, and I am unlikely to shoot it beyond...
No pictures handy, but visualize a New England Arms single shot Pardner with a .50 cal 28 inch barrel, a 30 mm Burris scope, and a Velcro cheek piece.
I sent the receiver to Smokeless Muzzleloaders Inc. and they custom fit the 28 inch barrel onto it. Ugly, but utterly functional and far...
Big life changes have kept me busy this year, but I'm back and have developed an interest in the 6.5 mm Creedmoor.
I am considering either the high end Ruger or Savage with some premium glass.
Who here has experience with this caliber, and what recommendations would you offer?
