That "someone" you speak of that has been shot and stabbed is Liberty. Did his "remedy" of voting for TARP stop the bleeding? It did absolutely nothing but exacerbate the problem as evidenced by the current economic situation. So much for to big to fail. As I age the resentment of losing Liberty grows. Yet on the other hand, I see it's becoming futile to discuss Liberty with my fellow citizens simply because they don't comprehend what it is. How many of my fellow Americans have a mom who lived under the rule of Hitler when he invaded her land? Or a father who survived two years of a prison camp overseen by the Kempeitai? My parents immigrated to Canada to escape socialism. Canada embraced socialism. So my parents moved to the US. The US embraced socialism. There is nowhere left to go. And all around me are Americans who pay lip service to Freedom. Instead of voting for men and women who will stand by the rule of law as prescribed by the Constitution (itself a work of fallible man but it's the best we have), they concentrate on getting someone in who will advocate their personal agenda, be it gun rights, abortion, immigration, taxation, etc. Lost in the entire exercise of voting is the rule of law. And Liberty. Odd thing about all my political posts is that they mean nothing in the end. I don't have children so my mind doesn't worry about the future that they would have endured. Almost all of my family is in Canada where socialism is the norm and it is what it is. My wife will go back to Canada when I cash in my chips since all of her family is there. But what about you guys and gals? What about your children? And grand-children? A member proudly posts photos of his newborn child on the forum and as much as a blessing as it is... the reality is that she likely will never experience Liberty. She's already enslaved by the government and the debt that this Congress and past Congresses made without her being able to have a say in the matter. Will it be any different for her children? Me thinks not. :( Anywayz, nothing I post matters. The reality is that freedom and Liberty are disappearing. It'll never be restored no matter what any of us say or do. Look around and see. Government has never been voted smaller in history. Our government is no exception to the reality of history.
