Did it stop the bleeding? Too soon to tell. Just because we haven't experienced a total economic recovery isn't proof that it exacerbated the situation. Would we really be better off if GM went under? How about pre tarp? Would we better off without many of our major airlines? Don't give up just yet. Vote every time you get the chance. America has experienced pendulum swings in ideological beliefs for many years, and if recent Tea Party success is any indicator, the pendulum is peaking on its left swing before it swings back to the right. I think it can be different if future generations are educated properly. It is the responsibility of every parent to make sure their children receive an education without being completely dependent on a public school system. The "dumbing down" of our population and growing sense of dependence on government is an inevitable side effect of being governed by such a massive, bloated bureaucracy. It sucks, but there are still people fighting to fix it. Careful with that kind of talk. Before you know it you'll have a warrantless wire tap monitoring all your phone conversations, but it's ok because you have nothing to hide right? Sorry...I couldn't resist that one.
