I replied to shoot center mass because that is the biggest area, and may increase your odds of a hit.

Now as to take that as I am shooting to kill , nope but that may be a side effect of a solid hit, BEFORE that point the bad guy could have avoided he entire situation, by leaving my family and myself alone.

^^^This. If I am shooting an attacker, I am shooting to stop. I aim center of mass because that maximizes the chances of getting a hit, which maximizes the chances of stopping the threat; wounding or killing does not enter into consideration.
