I have no answer either as most of the mass shooting have been committed by someone legally allowed to purchase or own a firearm, or stole it. There is zero method available to justify taking a personal defense weapon away from any law abiding citizen if they have not been adjudicated of some mental issue by a court previously. People snap or harbor long term issues that cause them to snap, but the Constitution doesn't allow for thought police if you feel angry one day and decide to kill the next. Most of these have been people that may be a little "different" that get bullied and decide to take revenge on society at the point of losing their own life in doing so. The grocery store shooter had to be talked out of swallowing a firearm by LEO. Personally I would have encouraged it, but that is not allowed in their training. If your so distraught by society why kill innocents? Part of it is wanting to go down in history like Klebold and Harris from the Colorado school shooting. They wanted their names to go down in infamy. Why? IMHO, that is what needs to be figured out. Why do suicidal people want to go down in infamy with a body count to accompany them? Figure that out and we may have a solution to what is causing this mass shooting issue.
