I just got a Kimber 1911 in 10mm. It came with 6 WC mags and a Kimber original. Supposedly it has a 22 lb recoil spring and another 20 lb in the box. The issue is that sometimes either the cartridge will get started in the chamber and hang up, or the slide won’t go into full battery. This happens it seems without provocation with all the mags and several different styles of bullets. Does anyone have any theories on a remedy? I really want to like this gun, as it is scary accurate, and hope for a simple fix. The gun is used, but maybe just needs more of a break in period. The previous owner said it only has about 500 rounds through it. Thoughts OSA? Thanks.

Will your ammo
Plunk in the chamber with the barrel removed?
Take the slide off and slide a case rim up the breechface into contact w the extractor? It is difficult?

L to r: S&B 180 fmj, Sig 180 jHP, PMC 170 jHP, and my 180 grain “.40s&w-ish” load (895 FPS). All plunk in the chamber fine. The next picture is of the round under the extractor. Not terribly difficult to put there and stays in place when lightly shaken.

Here is the result of my hand loads and the lighter 20# spring. This occurred every single time, for ten rounds. I’ll put the 22# spring back in and see if that makes a difference. I don’t think it’s an issue with limp wristing, but I will bear down hard this next go round.
