I picked some 125 gr powder coated and 110 gr V-MAX. Originally picked them up for .30 Carbine Blackhawk. It doesn't like the 125 gr. Put them in .30-30 and .30-06. SUCCESS! Both shoot 1" @ 50 yards and are great deer rounds. Both rounds loaded to 2500 fps. Which puts them at mid .25-06 and very mild. 10 yo grandson took a deer @100 yards, through both shoulders, DRT. The 110 V-Max in .30-06 were loaded to screaming, 3500 fps. Coyote @200 yards had a small hole through a rib, just behind shoulder and inside was mush. Jumped straight up, yelped, ran in mid air a few steps, piled up on ground. .30-30 is getting 3000 fps. Shoots 1 1/2" @100. Haven't put it on game. 1900 - 2500 fps SHOULD make it a nice expanding Ballistic Tip. I hope, anyway. Hoping the slower velocity will make a good .30 Carbine hog round.
