Yes it weighs 14.5 gr but is a bit soft.
It can be gas checked Maybe some high temp paint on it then a gas check.

I made it in a Lee 158 gr mold.

I’ve made a lot of wax bullets in the past for “in the city” pest control when I lived there.
Just used some canning wax available at grocery stores, let it soften and push the case into it.
Primer only for a propellant.
Worked much better when the case was modified to take a 209 shotgun primer.
Swamprats looks like silicone in a mold? That would work better than wax by a long shot.

I was fixing a light for my son and used the Hot glue gun and then I thought HHHMMM I could try to fill a hole in this mold with some glue.
I have cut the glue sticks and shot them from my 45acp as they are .45"
I just had to try this.
I like the silicone Idea.

You could powder coat it.
I may not shoot this.But when I shot 45acp I used primer only and I have shot crayons from my 357 with primer only.
Crayons fit well and you just insert them and snap them off.

I have done wax and the store bought hard plastic with primer only also.

I like to take a cardboard box and place the opening towards me and tape a couple red rags or a T shirt over the opening and then tape a paper target to that.

You collect the primer propelled bullet for reusing that way.

But yes this is Hot Glue.
Primers will back out a little when doing this so know that.
It could lock up your revolver,, well not lock up but make it a bit hard to open.

I have 38 special cases i use just for primer firing and the flash holes are drilled larger. This keeps the primers from backing out so much.
But those cases are kept together tot to be used with normal loads.

The wax bullet thing I got from a guy in a gun magazine that was pushing practice in your basement with little noise and they are fairly accurate at close ranges.
It morphed into the neighborhood dogs that were allowed to roam free and when we let our little yorkie dog out that never left our yard as we supervised it they sometimes became aggressive. Wax bullet to the rescue with almost no noise.
It didn’t seriously hurt the dogs, but they paid attention when we were outside and never had any further issues with them. Same with cats pissing in our flower beds.
Moving to the country almost 30 years ago was the best thing that ever happened.
