That's because China charged tariffs on our vehicles and goods shipped into their country, so GM built factories there.
Fortunately Trump has reversed some of those tariffs. I've not looked into the vehicle tariffs to see if those were affected.

No, they don't wear out often. The oversize and ambi are the advantage most are upgrading with an aftermarket CH.

It's not just the oversized ambi that's a selling point. The critical stress area on the newer designs shift the point of the most stress away from the roll pin, which is a common failure point on AR's subjected to extreme use. For 99% of all AR owners, they never give issue. For that 1% who do multiple dynamic carbine classes per year and use the AR for duty use, they have been known to fail.

Is this one similiar to the Stag chinesium they had BF for $15.
I tried the Stagnesium yesterday by charging from each side 10 times and the little lugs that ride in the chanel started galling. Trash in my experience.
