They haven't been crashing dummies for nothing. My last daily driven hotrod was a 1966 Chevelle also the last year before a collapsible steering column update in 1967. That 1959 bel air did not fair to well.

I have seen some of those test crashes.
I even removed a bunch of steel off the front of my 57 so it is even more prone to soda can crush on me.

But the way I see it is i did not get that car to crash it..I do not go around worrying what is going to happen in a crash.
I got it because it was only 1500 bucks and i liked the price and the car.
I have already been hit in it from a lady that was running about 45 in a neighborhood around a blind corner.. she left over 60 foot of skid marks in her newer suv.
She got towed home.
I drove my car home.. they both got damaged in the front ends.

I had some spare fenders and built a fiberglass front bumper :)
