Stupid split... most birds I saw all year, right in the middle of it.

Our numbers are always greatest after season is closed during the last two week of January............. and February is like a waterfowl petting zoo, but I'm aware that February isn't an option. Giving us the last two weeks of January is though :)

We had a super slow season until the last weekend. I've never seen as many geese and ducks as I did the last day. Right at sunset they started streaming over the lake. We watched with our jaws in the mud for about 45 minutes as 1000's of birds flew over our heads. Looked like they might have come from the Ft. Cobb area and were headed North of I-40 somewhere. It was like the "they can't shoot now, let's go" alarm went off and they started filling the sky.

2 more weeks would have been great.
