Nice shoot dlbleak!

It was a cold slow morning for us. Been a long time since I've had boot lips in the rig. The drake was by himself and the hen came in with the two greenheads.

Nice shovlers.................shouldn't they be gone by now? :) We're headed for a milo field shortly, cold weather should have them hungry.

we passed on the spoonies the other day. their lips cast a shadow that was easy to pick out. had a few buzz the dekes. i almost pulled up on a drake just because they are really good looking birds(minus the bill)!

We usually don't see them this late. The drake that came in by himself looked better plumed in the early light and was going to be a wall bird. And the hen came in with a pair of drake mallards and was just collateral damage. We usually pass on them, but they'll go just fine in the sausage pile.

Tons of birds tonight, very few committed to the spread, most never went down anywhere.............just one of those cold, cloudy and windy evening where they just fly around forever and never cooperate. Anyone ever seen a bird with zero skin on its neck? As in NONE? It fell from the sky like that.
