Took my daughter out again last night. No movement, save for one mallard drake. He didn't leave. Beautiful colors and a triple curl!

Nice drake, make. We've gotten into the mallards really good this year. Skunked on the closer of zone 1 though. Saw two bald eagles.
One more zone 2 weekend, hit 'em hard!

I have yet to really get into any birds. My deer season again drug into January which didn't help my bird efforts. Maybe this weekend will be the ticket. Let's hope.

Zone 1 is fairly barren, kind of like I've never seen before. There's a few geese here and there, but as far as ducks, not much to nothing. We've killed 1 duck field hunting this year lol, which is crazy for us, that's usually almost all we do is field hunt for ducks. Good thing there was some water, we need 1 more duck to break our season record. Zone 2 or bust lol.

My youngest son was up this past weekend and killed a couple ducks, but he called yesterday after coyote hunting to tell me he saw ducks and geese everywhere he went. He said it was just his bad luck.
