2019 Deer Hunting

I’m sitting here with a xbow and a six inch 586. It’s been a week since I’ve hunted, we’ll see how it goes.

Same here, no deer, but a nice sunset.

1 coyote, 14 doe and 2 bucks, not the one I'm looking for though. Heard no shots, no waterfowl, no pheasant. no squirrels, very quiet other than the deer.

The duck hunters were blasting away. I heard 6-8 groups of hunters letting go this evening. One group went well after legal time. A text to the GW might be in order.

Anyone else out this evening? Jumped a good one walking in. Couple does wandering around.

I was out Friday evening. First time ever only seeing bucks. Saw 4 little ones.

Gave it a try yesterday morning and lasted until about 8 until I got soaked.

I saw a few doe right after duck hunting this morning but only had a shot on a yearling, so they went on their way. Sat in a new spot with good camera activity until the camera died Christmas. Got skunked and saw 4 doe as I was driving out...

Seen a doe being chased by 2 dogs with collars Sunday evening from the stand, one of these days I am going to pop bang pow, instead I whistled and stopped the dogs for a few seconds to give her a big lead.

One of our hunters here on the ranch killed an old smart buck this morning. He said he’s tried to get on this Buck for a few years but either the deer changed locations, a shot didn’t present itself or the deer would always spook when he got ready to take him out. He said this morning he got on him as soon as he walked in and let it fly as soon as possible. He was pretty pumped he finally got him. The buck had little to no teeth left. I told him maybe he didn’t outsmart the deer today. Maybe the buck decided he’d been there done that so suicide by hunter was an honorable way to go instead of his lack of teeth.
