Some Appleseeds are limited to .22LR only. Check the individual event for caliber restrictions. Any rifle action and any sighting system is allowed but the course of fire is designed around removable magazine fed semi-autos.</p><p></p><p><strong>Notice -</strong> <em>Smith & Wesson 15/22 .22LR rifles are prohibited due to safety issues. S&W centerfire AR15's, all .22LR conversions and non-S&W .22LR dedicated AR15 uppers are allowed.</em></p><p>Both Project Appleseed and the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation have prohibited the use of the S&W 15/22 rifles at their events after multiple safety issues including rifles that had passed S&W's safety check gauge.
