River hunting can be a blast. Good weights and a good dog is needed.
It should happen, still curious to see if it will like in the good years.
And they have arrived. Our numbers have quadrupled. Mixture of mallards gads pintails widgeon and some divers

I check out big pond today, lot's mallards hanging out back in the east end out of the wind, bunch buffleheads and teal out in the big water. About 80% of the pond was still open, and was the only open water I saw all day. Not near as many geese around and from what I saw they fed all day and didn't return to water to loaf midday.
We are down to 3 pools open.... each about 80yrds long by 50yrds wide. They are stacked in shoulder to shoulder. The surrounding ice is covered with birds too.
