I mean the effort and time put in to be proficient with a recurve and instinctively shooting. Have hunted with a compound bow that also requires fine tuning to be proficient. I guess for me it wasn't always about the killing of game but the journey of mastering the method. The taking of game was a measurement  of your success. A crossbow takes that out of it for me, set it up, dial in the scope and never practice, pick it up a year later shoot it hits the bullseye. Where is the challenge I guess is what I'm saying. Don't know,  just never could get into it.</p></blockquote><p></p>
