TRUTH!! 2023 will be my families 7th consecutive year without health insurance. I will not pay $17k in premiums for the great coverage of paying another $7k in deductibles plus co payments. We use a great doctor that has cash rates I can live with. Our 14 year old had an ear infection a couple weeks back: $75 doctor fee $14 antibiotic $22 steroid Thanks to the great advice of this site last year, I found an online pharmacy in Florida and I get our only recurring meds, my bp meds for $14 per 90 day supply. Walgreens is $700 for the same prescription for cash payers! The Lord Jesus has blessed us all with great health. That being said I'm well aware that one hospitalization would absolutely destroy all our savings. This system is stoopid. I can swing an emergency room or outpatient surgical procedure, but a big hospitalization surgery or some severe sickness would mean real trouble. I cover car crash injuries should they occur via med payment coverages on our cars. If me and the wife can make it another decade or so we can make it to Medicare lol. It's shameful.
