Shot this warrior one week before rifle. He's partially broke off on his right side, gored in front shoulder, bare spot cut/scrape across back and a bald chest (I guess from doing the wild thing) Here's the low down:
Bow: Recurve 1968 Ward's Western Field Standard Hunter 48# @ 28"
(made by Ben Pearson - same as model 900 Deer Slayer)
condition 78%, well used, cost $25
that's about 25% more than it was new, I think I got ripped off !
Arrow: Easton Legacy 500 / 150 gr insert / 100 gr Thunder Head Broadhead
total wt. 498 gr
Chrono: 122 FPS ( That's right boys, blistering speed )
Shot: Quartering away, hit just behind rib cage, thru diaphragm, into lung on opposite side of cavity. Penetration 15".
Distance: 504" (do the math smart guy)
this increment somehow looks more impressive
Travel: 55 yds from impact - dead in 20 seconds
Shooter: Old, Lucky, Barely Capable

Well, the theory that field dressing a deer near a feeder has no effect on deer visiting a feeder is proven once again with pics.
This deer is 20’ away from the gut pile.
There is standing water nearby that fogs up at night, which is why the pic is cloudy.

Gut pile, or even field dressing (we are in the background field dressing a deer) won’t keep them away
