If you did find out you need one you might save a few bucks by getting just the sizing die and not the full set.A small base die makes the brass smaller so it will fit in a tight chamber. If you don't have a tight chamber and you use a small base die you are working your brass more than you need to and it could cause your brass to wear out faster. If I had a tight chamber it might be better to polish it and get a little more room.  A small base die would be easier. Small base dies exist because there is a need for them.
