I know there are ALOT of better options for shtf while your at work or away from home but just curious on your thoughts. I usually have a 22lr rifle in the truck while going back and forth to work and while I was welding last week (welders have a lot of time to think and work) if something was to happen like transportation shut down and I had to hoof it for 35 miles could I be at piece of mind carrying it? I got to thinking about other options I have to carry but got to thinking about the weight of ammo and the rifle. The Henry h001 is light as well as the ammo but range and effectiveness is low what do you think?

If you're just trying to get home, I'm not sure range would be an issue. However, up close and personal might be, especially if you're defending your vehicle or passing through crowded areas.

Of course anything can happen, but ya can't carry everything.
