Well. I'm here to tell ya that this new Federal Punch was somewhat of a let down...I tried it in a Walther PPK, a Beretta Bobcat 21A, and my S&W M&P .22 Compact. The PPK absolutely hated this round. I'm pretty sure it's the flat-nose profile of the bullet that was causing a lot of problems, but then again, the darn things would not reliably extract and eject either. This particular PPK loves the 40gr CCI Mini Mags, and CCI Velocitors, also in the 40 gr flavor, the best. It worked "okay" in the Beretta 21A, with a few failures to ignite, and a couple of stovepipes. Let me caveat that ...when I said it worked "okay" in the Baby Beretta, I really meant it worked okay for shooting at a range. We all know reliability is a huge factor when selecting a round to carry. I would NOT carry the Federal Punch in my 21A because it had too many issues. It gets fed the same diet as the PPK above; CCI 40 gr Mini Mags or Velocitors. Now, moving on to the .22 Compact, it ate that Federal Punch right up. Not a glitch in 100 rounds using the S&W M&P .22 Compact. This pistol and this ammo...could be helpful to some.
