Just curious as to how many people carry this and what companies they go through. I'm thinking about picking this up as I've read several stories where people used a firearm in self defense only to have either local law or the family of the attacker come after them. There may be other posts on this, I'm just feeling lazy on my day off.

I have, but hope to never use USCCA.
In addition to covering the legal fees, they have a magazine and training videos etc. There is some coverage for getting your firearm back and counseling and clean up. Not a good explanation but I don’t want to retype it on my day off.

I work for CCW Safe if you have any questions. We are locally owned but have members in all 50 plus DC.

Here is a story inline with your post. Steve was charged with murder after defending himself. We defended him (only case in the industry where a member was defended from incident to trial on a murder) to the tune of $350k.

I've had CCWsafe since 2016. Good plan(s) for the money, great reputation and court defense record, and nice folks to deal with.

    Here's hoping I never need 'em. :drunk2:

I have USCCA and my brother has US Law Shield. Doesn't seem to be much difference between us, but neither have ever had to use the services!

There is a huge difference. The first has defense limits. $50k-$250k max (on Elite). The first is insurance based. US Law Shield uses membership fees to keep attorneys on retainer.

Being insurance based is why NRA Carry Guard, USCCA, and Second call can not cover New York.

All of the companies offering this type coverage are good companies and will do what they say. But there are some major differences in what is covered. We suggest everyone research and compare to decide what is best for them. The 2 biggest things to look for (IMO) are limits on defense costs, and reimbursement. If they have reimbursement (NRA Carry Guard) they will pay a portion (generally 20-25%) of your defense costs and reimburse the rest if you prevail.
