Sounds like somebody had an epifany :D

By their definition, this is a military style weapon, which in its day was.

There is another myth that accompanies the "assault weapon" myth, which is sometimes propagated by ostensibly pro-gun folks... the idea that fully automatic firearms are more dangerous and deadly than semi auto versions. We ought to be selling people on the idea that semi autos are just as effective, and that the sky would not fall if the machine gun ban were lifted.

In certain situations, the auto weapons are more deadly, but in most situations, aimed fire is far superior and more effective.

Unfortunately, there was a recent episode with a 9 year old girl and a fully auto weapon that will be twisted to support the bam on fully auto weapons. Sad really. Both the events that unfolded and the twisted way in which the tragedy will no doubt be used to continue to suppress common sense lawmaking.

This is, in no way, an enlightened way of thinking. Look at the timing of these articles: it seems to me that this is just an attempt to message the gun grabbers and get them to back off pushing gun control and the more extreme measures that have been proposed ahead of the midterm elections. Look at the policy recommendations by Center for American Progress - UBC which can only be enforced with a registry, trying to redefine mental illness so that more people get caught up in that, and permits to buy/possess assault weapons. Even in the paper put out by CAP they say that they need to wait for another crisis by saying:

“You want to be ready for when there is an opportunity to move federal legislation,” Mr. Gerney said. “Once in a while you have to take the long view and take a look at what are the problems we’re facing, what are the set of policy solutions? Do the solutions match the problem and have we taken a fresh look at the problem?”

So yeah, nothing to see here. Once the midterms have passed, AWBs and mag caps will be once again en vogue with the politcal class and progressive think tanks.

I put this on the same level as, “If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what.” -- Barack Obama, June 15, 2010 and "We will continue to work toward an unmatched level of transparency, participation and accountability across the entire administration."--President Barack Hussein Obama ----NOTHING BUT LIB DEMOCRAT MID-TERM ELECTION BRAVO SIERRA!!!!
