300 blk subsonic loads?

What are you guys having the best luck out of an ar? I'm running an 8.5 inch noveske barrel. Seems like all of the info I can find (including my manual) is a for 16 inch barrels or using powders that don't seem to exist. My ideal bullet is the 208gr a-max as it is actually available.

The ideal powder is AA1680. Since that is kind of like a unicorn these days, I use Lil Gun. Its a little tough to load it to subsonic and still get the bolt to lock back on an empty mag but its doable if you have a chronograph. Hopefully you also have a suppressor to help you out!

All I have been able to find locally is win296 and H4198. Does anyone have any knowledge/experience with these powders?

And yessir I'll be running an SDN6 as long as my loads prove to stabilize

300 Blackout Forums is your best bet for loads using w296. I think someone here had some 1680 up for sell for 50 a pound or it was on armslist.

You can find 1680 on gunbroker if you willing to pay for it. 1680 is a seasonal run powder. Starting watching in for it around mid 2015 and buy up what you need.

Lil'gun produces a lot of heat.

The w296 is pretty much the same as H110, from what I have read.

Good news! h4198 worked very well in my setup:

8.5inch noveske
AAC sdn6
208gr a-max
LC converted brass
11gr of h4198
Cci br400 primers.

Was right around 910fps and lock back bolt when empty every time. will be trying 11.5 gr next to get around the 1000-1025fps mark
