HS Precision won't be getting anymore of my $$$ either. Dustingaunder, which NF did you put on your Sako. Is that a TRG-22 or 42? Get yourself a Near Mfg. base on that rifle. Looks like a US Optics base. I had one on my TRG-S...hated it. Nice rifle, I'll probably be getting a TRG-42 next year. .338 Lapua version. Sorry about that DED, I like McM stocks. I would look into Manners also. I'd probably run a 24-26" barrel. Badger, Surgeon bottom metal. I have Seekins Bottom metal on mine. I'm not so crazy about the magazine slop. Otherwise it's ok. For rings/base I like Badger, Seekins, Near Mfg. stuff. I'm running a Hart 1-12" on my .308. I have a Broughton on my .338 and 7mm RM project. Lots of quality barrel makers out there. I think the machinist is more important nowadays. Get a quality scope. If you hand load....I would look into 7mm, 6.5 and 6mm versions of the .308 too. I have two .243's that are great shooters. I've got several 7mm rifles too. Think about what you really want the rifle for, there are better choices out there than the .308Win. It is a good all purpose round though. Don't rush.
