Looking for a 357 lever action rifle with a shorter barrel (i.e. 16"). Can't really afford some of the nicer models, so I'm thinking of maybe a Rossi or similar. Still kicking myself for passing on a Marlin for $350 a couple years back.

I have had both the Henry and Marlin versions of .357/.38 spl lever guns - both great guns with slightly different strengths.
I have a friend who owns a Rossi and my personal experience from using his game and his opinion is that the Rossi gun is also a solid performer.

Thanks for the info. At my last trip to the range, a guy had the 16" Rossi and it impressed me. Looks like a handy little rifle.
