5.1gr HP38 with gas checked lee 158 lead bullet that weight 170gr
non magnum primers gave best groups with that load.
That load is a ***** cat but accurate at 70 feet and under. I shot around 2" groups with it at that distance standing up
shooting 2 handed with iron sights.

for 100-200 yard shooting the hotter stuff works well like magna19 stated or some 2400 powder.
I have only used cast lead in my 357.

The 357 in my wife's favorite gun to shoot.
Mine is German made with sort of a target grip and 6" vent rib barrel.

All I load is light plinking loads, 125 grain cast over a mid range load of TrailBoss. That's for my wife's LCR. It ain't fun to shoot with +P loads.

Of course a case full of FFFg with a bullet compressing it down to the crimp groove is a LOT of fun!

Cool.... I picked up some 160 gr lead at Jerry's today. Looked thru some info and see that my True Blue is workable in both .38 and .357. Gonna give it a try and see if I can do something right. :)

Appreciate the info guys. The FFFG sounds like a blast.....hate cleaning that stuff tho.

13.5gr of 2400 under a 158jhp @1199fps is good.
Loaded some at 14.5 under 158LRN. Shot good enough to be ESR division champion at Jack's IDPA match.

Next adventure will be using some H110 I got.

Added:

Just saw the .38 & .357 loads.

Like me some 3.5gr of Bullseye under 158LSWC and 2.6gr of Bullseye with PD's 148HBWC. Tried some regular clays, but liked bullseye a hair better.
