No real advantage. My only reason was - just because I could! I built an identical gun in the same exact chambering for a guy out in West Texas a couple of years ago, and he was shooting 200 gr. cast bullets at 950 fps. for a relatively quiet plinking and hog load, and 140 gr. jacketed bullets at over 2,500 fps. for coyotes. Both loads worked very well for his intended purposes. Plus, by being able to chamber for well over 500 different cartridges, from the small .14 Piss Ant cartridge, and up to an including the 700 Nitro Express, it has always been kinda hard to figure out just exactly what to chamber a rifle for. I also have my more "normal" and personal favorite cartridges that include rounds like the 243 Winchester, 7mm STW, 300 Weatherby Magnum, 375 H&H, 30-30 Ackley Improved, 460 Weatherby Magnum, etc.. But what's the fun in being normal?!?! Reloading dies for any wildcat cartridge can be made for less than $10 a set, and caliber/cartridge choices are nearly endless.
